- The weather was fantastic this day and that really seemed to bring the Irie out. And, once the evening settled in and the 420 breezed across the valley, .. the captives began to really set themselves free. Which is why I go to live music events in the first place. The Sheriffs just passed the partiers and looked out for any real trouble (love it when they go like that - thanks brother law). Bathrooms were clean, concession lines short and there was alot of kid activities during the day. I watched kids play in a giant play area, do exercises, arts and crafts and, of course, face painting. Who doesn't love face-painting? I don't photograph kids, cops or celebrities, except where kids and parents are photographed together and I've spoken with them. Just so you know. Now that I've been to three festivals this summer (so far) I can tell you that this is in-between the Kate Wolf (mellow) and the Reggae on the River (Festivals Gone Wild) on the festival-party scale. Camping was easy and avails (the best spot was the Anderson Valley Campsite) as it is a stones' throw away from the action and looked like a very cool enclave of campers. I'm guessing most knew ahead and had been tipped off. Although the other campsite (the main one) WAS right next to the concert area. Just more family-oriented as opposed to the Anderson Valley Campsite (which was still going when I left at 2am++. The After-hours dancehall was a true dancehall environment staged in a barn-like atmosphere (very cool) and although I was bush-whacked (not to mention way past my bedtime) I stayed and grooved with the kids before heading through a few camps to see what the set-up was like. There were a few pics I passed on. Some people that looked great, but the pic didn't do them justice, so sorry, no post. If I think even one person won't like the pic, I'll pass. Except for the guy at the end of this page. Cute girlfriend!, but he looks ridiculous in the pic. I talked to him, he seemed like a cool person, so I went ahead. But if he writes and wants it gone, it's gone! In fact, anyone IN a pic can ask me to remove it and I will. Right Away. But it almost enever happens in the nearly 10 years I've been shooting events. But, just so you know. It's your site, I just run it. And to all, THANKS for letting me take your pic. - Andy
